Just get the skills with Bounce and Scatter (spawn bullets when killed) and maybe the ones that gives additional bullets when firing and extra burn damage.
After that just go for mov, atk and reload spd, and the shield/extra health.
Heck you don't even need the upgrade from the dragon.
I usually prio: burn>bounce>scatter>vit+giant>fusillade>run&gun(pick up 25% atk speed asap though, helps early) using scarlett, infinite healing and damage in one combo with some of the highest consistency I've ever seen.
Weapon tier list: Crossbow (I don't need to explain why) Pistol (decent damage and range) Shotgun (The only thing it is good at is having a lot of bullets and any gun can get this with upgrades and the pistol and crossbow are much better with it because of the higher starting damage.) Flamethrower (......)
With a proper flame cannon build, nothing in the latter stages gets close to you because literally everything on the screen is on fire; spewing more flame bullets when they die.
same but i got my sweeper hina build back lol, crossbow and hina for the dodge and damage and then max bullet penetration with splinter and bullet spread, dont forget "always ready" to make it rapid fire and mix all of em and you get to lvl 30 in 10 minutes lmao
Love the new update idea, but I think you can add a little affect at the base of the lightning to help show the AOE. Though I applaud you for such a cool game so far.
This build is absolutely insane. Pair this with upgrades that give you multiple bullets per shot, and, after killing the 5-minute boss, get the tome of power. Got my first win using it.
if you run crossbow with fullisade you get a better shotgun. do double shot first then the fullisade will show up and if you can get quick hands and armed and ready you get a three shot high damage crossbow shotgun and if you get the damage increase you do as much as the base damage for each shot.
Played the game and immediately whishlisted it: I love it so much! It's prefectly polished and super addictive. Two things I noticed: if you click really fast with the shotgun (I made sure I had no ammo upgrades and the default 2 ammo slots) it shot at least one more time after reaching 0 ammo.
The art style is gorgeus but i feel that there's not enough contrast. I'd suggest to add a setting for implementing High Contrast or a slider.
When it comes out, I'll definetly buy it, great job!
PS: Will there be a multiplayer mode? Will it be local or online?

you need to rush the whole pyro mage tree asap for the flamethrower build, with splinter and rubber bullets being focused next, and flamethrower scarlett can clear end wave without moving her mouse (aka a fraction of what crossbow can do)
Amazing game but I noticed that the full version on steam will be 20 mins instead of 10. I feel like the 10 min runs are part of what make this game special and not just a vampire survivors clone. Vampire survivors is a chill 30 min run but this is a hectic 10 min run. It's concentrated fun. 20 min runs would kinda water it down. I really hope you keep it to 10 mins in the full version.
1. The flame gun is VERY weak and slows you down SO much that I cannot make it viable
2. My favorite weapon is the shotgun but all the 'extra projectile' upgrades are trash for it maybe add 2 projectiles for the shotgun.
3. I have played for while and I am super good at this game so take this with a grain of salt: the boss that traps you in the red box thing feels too hard. I've played for ~4 hours, (I love this game if you couldn't tell), and gotten some great synergies and amazing runs and never beaten it. Maybe make the box bigger or lower the boss's health or speed.
4. From what I have seen there are no spread reduction/accuracy upgrades. A small spread reduction/accuracy upgrade could go a long way. It could be a scope.
5. There is no active healing, and the only passive healing, the regen upgrade, is locked behind the giant upgrade, which can be run ending. Maybe you could add a small chance (like 1-2%) that the enemy's drop a heart or every 50-100 monsters killed spawn a health dropping enemy. Or just add VERY slow starting regen, like 1 heart every real time minute.
6. I would love a Retry button when you die because exiting to the title screen and entering again is kinda annoying.
All just opinions not complaints.

3. Lmao you are not super good at this game. The boss is not hard to beat with crossbow + fusillade, or a good enough ghost summon, really anything? pistol is hard and flame cannon impossible but it's not too hard IMO

I do agree that the flamethrower starts off slow but it gets a lot better with the right build. the right build is just go everything that sets things on fire except the bullet one and the blazing speed because those feel like a waste. do haste and and fire rate upgrade you can get fast shooting gun and also the run and gun. you should try it and once you take down the boss take the tome of rage because you already do 2 damage anyway with fullisade.
finally beat the boss that traps you in a box, I recommend trying to get speed and the splinter upgrades before you get to it that way you can focus on running while the splinter is doing the work. Your best bet it to juke it out until the box disappears (yes it does do that after a bit).
Love the game. The difficulty is just hard enough to be satifying when you make a new record but easy enough to be feasible. love the graphics and mood.
Not to downplay or insult the game or anything but was it inspired by vampire survivors? the play seems similar but idk.
Simple but fantastic game. I do feel a bit slow early on, but by late game I'm steamrolling. Hitboxes feel forgiving, though kind of necessary with how overwhelming the enemies are.
Some suggestions/complaints:
- At the 5:00 mark, sometimes you get insta-damaged by the boundary.
- The reticle is a bit small and hard to see. Could be made slightly larger at least when you're not firing.
- Add a flash of color to the reticle when you're at your last bullet so you can tell you're almost out of ammo without needing to divert your eyes to the top left.

I had the splinter upgrade on a really buff crossbow. I used Hina's clone, and well I think the resulting explosion might have hit some sort of internal limit haha

It's really solid! Admittedly, I jumped straight into it without looking at videos or screenshots. I was not at all ready for the enemy density! :D
I love the polish you've got on the game right now. It sounds good, looks good and plays quite well! The power-ups were exciting to sift through and pick strats. I quickly adopted the "shoot faster, shoot more, and have skills that trigger effects every x amount of bullets." It was a pretty solid strat from what I could tell.
The color palette is rad and adds a lot to the mood of the game. Not sure I have too many things that I'd consider criticisms outside of the fact that I, personally, am not the biggest fan of forced low-visibility, but I understand that it's meant to add to the mysticism of your surroundings.

you sleeping on the flamethrower? Burn builds are no joke
Once you get to the later stages even with an entire burn built, in the few seconds it takes them to burn you die.

Helps if you bring in Hina or get a few points in move speed too, as early game sucks until you get fire levels

The Fire Cannon is really slow and low damage at first, but when you combine it with Splinter and a huge horde, you get the most amazing thing ever
and with tome of rage it's actually amazing.
dont forget crossbow with max bullet damage with splinter and reaper rounds, complete crowd control right there

About Shana: She is the starting character. What do you expect? Also the shotgun is good, but not for all playing styles.
You do realize that Shana rerolls once per level or once every time you level up. EVERY time that's like 10-14 rerolls depending on the run.

Quick bug it doesnt sve progress over comp restarts, and I dont know where the pause button is, but this is a lovely game.

I think there should be a x1.5 or x2 multiplier for your (points?)
Also maybe implement a high score, I think this should be pretty simple to implement but I'm not a coder so idk.
